GETTING IN EARLY

Nevermind that there’s still more than 20 rounds in the NRL season to go, die hard Warriors fan Mark Hickey is certain his beloved Warriors will be making the NRL grand final this year.

His confidence comes after the Warriors came from behind in a gutsy 16-14 victory over the Bulldogs at Mount Smart stadium, their best start to a campaign since 2018.

“Don’t you worry, this is absolutely our year. Nothing like Shaun Johnson turning back the clock with a try like that,” Hickey remarked, whilst scrolling through the internet looking at flights and accommodation for Sydney in October.

The 28 year-old had just about booked his flights when Shaun Johnson threw a dummy and scored under the posts to put the Warriors ahead with 10 minutes remaining.

“Three wins in four games and sitting in fourth place right now. I don’t care about injuries, form, upsets and shockers from the refs and bunker. The boys are looking as good as they’ve ever been right now. Impossible for it to all fall apart from here,” said Hickey, forgetting that he’d been left heartbroken many times by all the things he’d just listed.

“I don’t care if there’s still another 20 or so rounds to go. If they win again next week, I’ll definitely be locking in that trip and accommodation for the grand final in Sydney. Hopefully the Warriors have considered the extra cargo they’ll be bringing home in October too!”

More to come.
