LEAVE IT TO THE PROS
The team at 1855 Barbers in Prebbleton Christchurch have once again proved why some jobs should be left to the professionals. Against all odds they were able to salvage what can only be described as an ambitious but ultimately tragic DIY haircut that local woman Emma Carter inflicted on her boyfriend Jake.
26 year old Jake Wilkinson, a trusting soul who made the mistake of uttering the fateful words, “Yeah, you can give it a go,” found himself seated in the 1855 Barbers chair this morning, his head sporting a series of uneven patches resembling a poorly constructed topographical map.
“She said she watched a TikTok tutorial, but I think the tutorial must have been in a different language,” Jake admitted as he sheepishly removed his cap upon arrival.
“Mate, you’ve been through a lot, haven’t you?” said one of the well respected barbers at 1855, before rolling up his sleeves and getting to work.
With the precision of a sculptor restoring an ancient statue, Matt expertly transformed Jake’s botched bowl cut into a crisp, clean fade. The once jagged edges were smoothed out, and the random chunks of missing hair were seamlessly blended into a style that suggested Jake had, in fact, been to an actual barbershop all along.
The 1855 Barbers team say this isn’t the first time they’ve had to step in to fix a misguided DIY attempt. “We get a couple of these a month,” Matt explained. “Most of the time, it starts with a girlfriend saying, ‘How hard can it be?’ Turns out, quite hard.”
The team at 1855 Barbers remain on standby for the next bloke who learns this lesson the hard way.
More to come.
