SHOCKER
Wellington woman Julia Jennings, 33, shocked her immediate family members this morning when she announced her viewing intentions for this year’s Paris Olympic Games.
The mother and part time nurse at Wellington Hospital was sipping her coffee when the topic of the Olympics came up.
“Oh we should find out when the Olympics are on, hopefully it’s an easy time for us to watch. I really like watching the gymnastics,” she said to her husband Ryan as he fell off his chair in surprise.
Ryan told the Whakataki Times how rare and unusual it was for someone like Julia to show an interest in gymnastics, as most women with her background are more interested in events like shooting or powerlifting.
“Ha really, gymnastics? Next you’ll be telling me you want to watch the synchronised swimming!” said her husband sarcastically.
In a move that made the man drop his toast marmite-side-down on the kitchen floor, Ms Jennings then turned around and said “Yeah actually I really enjoy watching the synchronised swimming too. They’re all so poised and elegant.”
Their four year old son Xavier appeared highly amused by the situation.
“Dad, you’re reeeal messy!” he said to his flabbergasted father.
Julia, who had just finished one of the most dramatic eye-rolls of all time, then went on to say she also wishes they had figure skating at the summer games.
More to come.
