As the Wallabies appear poised to exit this year’s World Cup in the pool stages, All Blacks fans are choosing to hold back their laughter when it comes to their Australian counterparts.

This morning’s resounding 40-6 loss to Wales has cast a shadow over the Wallabies’ tournament prospects, and it seems they might be packing their bags earlier than coach Eddie Jones had envisioned.

Meanwhile, All Blacks fans are holding off making fun of the Wallabies, with the ABs finding themselves in a somewhat precarious third place within their own pool.

“As much as I want to rip into the Aussies, there’s a very real chance we could be on the same plane as them. The reality is, if we lose to Italy this weekend, we’re basically gone ourselves. Even if we win, we’re going to face a very tough Irish side in the quarters,” said AB’s fan Dan Jackett.

Jackett is right to be wary. The All Blacks have had a string of unwanted firsts in recent history, including their very first pool play loss at a major tournament, coming against France just two weeks ago.

“Crazy isn’t it? Imagine feeling uneasy about playing Italy! John Kirwan must be scratching a hole in his head!” said Jackett, referencing JK’s iconic individual try against Italy.

“The harsh reality is, if we stumble against Italy this weekend, we’re basically screwed. The Wallabies aren’t even out of the Cup officially. If Fiji lose to Georgia and Portugal, then the Aussies are in the quarters. I’d love to laugh at em, but we actually just can’t!

“Not worth the risk!”

More to come.
