NO BRAINER

In a move that has surprised no one, local man and self-proclaimed “Annual Leave Maximiser” Ryan Duggan has once again demonstrated his unmatched holiday planning ability.

This time, Duggan has strategically booked annual leave for the three days between Easter Monday and Anzac Day, effectively securing a 10-day break using only three days of leave.

The 2025 calendar presents a unique opportunity for savvy planners. With Good Friday on April 18, Easter Monday on April 21, and Anzac Day on April 25, Duggan identified the potential for an extended holiday.

“Some people see a calendar; I see a puzzle waiting to be solved,” Duggan remarked. “When I noticed the alignment of Easter and Anzac Day, I knew it was my time.”

Colleagues at Duggan’s workplace have expressed a mix of admiration and annoyance at his proactive leave-booking. “Ryan has a sixth sense for these things,” said coworker Lisa Thompson. “While the rest of us are spending January getting the work year off to a good start, he’s already planning his next getaway.”

Duggan’s meticulous planning is well documented. Last year, he made headlines for booking the Friday between Anzac Day and the weekend, turning a single day off into a four-day weekend.

When asked about his plans for the upcoming break, Duggan would not give too much away. “Let’s just say it involves a couple of beers, a couple of choccy eggs, and absolutely no emails.”

As the rest of us scramble to make the most of our annual leave, it looks like Ryan Duggan has been playing chess while we all play checkers.

More to come.
