THE STRUGGLE IS REAL

Laura Ainsley, 27, of Christchurch, has already reached her breaking point—ten minutes into her first day back at work after a blissful three-week break.

“I swear, when I left for Christmas, it felt like the weekend would never end, and now it’s Monday again—ugh, how is that even possible? Said the admin assistant , looking visibly distressed while talking to reporters.

“I did absolutely nothing for the past three weeks, and now I’m expected to just—what, dive into work like I’m some kind of machine?” Ainsley muttered, as she opened a new browser tab to check if her holiday photos were still getting ‘likes’ on Instagram.

“If they’re going to insist I come back into the office, they could at least make it a little more chill, right? Ease back into things?” bellowed Laura, knowing that the work she put off doing in late December has now become twice as urgent.

“It’s only been 10 minutes, but honestly, it feels like I’m already halfway through a workweek. How is it not the weekend yet?” she asked, shaking her head in disbelief.

After wrapping up the interview, Ainsley was reportedly seen opening the HR portal to check her annual leave balance.

More to come.
