JUST GET OUT!
Kayla Johnson, a former Silver Fern based in Auckland, has taken the drastic step of kicking her husband out of the house, due to his disruptive behaviour in the lounge and hallway.
Johnson says she is sick and tired of being sidestepped by husband Shaun, while she’s simply trying to go about her daily business.
“He’s been a nightmare actually, ever since he’s started claiming to be ‘retired’. So I ended up telling him to pack up his shit and get out,” she said nonchalantly.
“I said come back when you’ve got it out of your system. The kids and I are tired of being sidestepped in the hallway.”
The veteran halfback will replace an injured Jahrome Hughes in New Zealand’s Pacific Championship campaign. Kiwis coach Stacey Jones said that Johnson “didn’t hesitate” when asked to come out of retirement, not knowing that Johnson had been kicked out of the house by his wife anyway.
Jones praised Johnson’s presence, experience and leadership, but also acknowledged that he will need a place to stay until he learns to stop annoying his wife.
“SJ’s always welcome on my couch,” he laughed.
Kayla could not say when she expected her husband to be back, but is enjoying the peace and quiet in the meantime.
“Just good that we can relax a little bit and not have to live with the constant fear of being stepped at any moment.”
More to come.
