DOUBLE TROUBLE
All Blacks utility back Will Jordan has today revealed his growing desire to be scientifically cloned, so that one version of him can play fullback and the other can stay on the wing.
The 26-year-old, widely considered one of the best players in world rugby which has seen him score 41 tries in 43 tests, says the positional debate that follows him has been mildly annoying.
“I was just grabbing a coffee and some guy goes ‘Hey mate, love your work, but you’re wasted anytime they put you on the wing. I said cheers, just doing my bit for the team . Then the guy in the car next to me yelled out, ‘Nah, stay on the wing bro, you carve it up there!” Jordan said while he enjoys fullback he’s more than happy to play on the wing.
Jordan has had the majority of his success for the All Blacks on the right wing, but has often been a standout for the Crusaders at fullback.
Local punter Gary Thompson, 58, says the idea makes perfect sense.
“I’ve been saying for years, he’s our best option at 15. But also, he scores every time he’s on the wing. So yeah just clone the bugger. It’s not that hard. They do it with sheep.”
Jordan admitted he enjoys playing fullback and loves getting his hands on the ball more, but is more than happy to slot in anywhere he’s needed.
“Honestly, I’d play lock if it meant people would stop arguing at BBQs about me. But yeah if cloning is an option, I’m open to it. One of me at 15, one at 14. Might finally shut Facebook people up for five minutes.”
More to come.
